What the family is looking for
This busy family is seeking a warm, friendly, nurturing and calm nanny for their 6-month-old son, while Mum works from home and runs errands. Extra occasional weekend and evening hours are also on offer, so flexibility to work more at times is a bonus.
The primary responsibility of this role is care for the little one. The right nanny is confident working independently, kind and patient, with the knowledge and confidence to support him through his flexible routine for sleep, feeding and play.
A strong understanding of infant care and safety is essential: safe sleep practices, safe bottle preparation with the correct storage and handling of both breastmilk and formula, a safe transition to solids (including the difference between choking and gagging), and safe babywearing.
The family is looking for someone proactive about keeping a clean and tidy environment, who follows instructions well and uses their own initiative when the unexpected comes up.
Role requirements
- Experience working with infants
- A valid WWVP card, police check, CPR and First Aid
- Knowledge of safe sleep guidelines, bottle, formula and breastmilk handling, choking versus gagging, starting solids, and safe babywearing
- Two references Emma can contact
About the family
Mum will be coming and going from the home, working from home, attending appointments and running errands. Dad works during the day and is occasionally home too. The family environment is respectful, clean, relaxing and well organised, and they are looking for someone who fits seamlessly into their routine and home.
The home includes two friendly, house-trained dogs, a Staffy and a Maltese cross Toy Poodle. They are an important part of the household, so it is essential that the nanny is comfortable around them.
